Over $100,000 in prizes was available.

 

All finalists received mentoring and other support to help them develop their idea and compete for the prizes. An initial $5,000 prize was granted to each finalist to help them develop their idea and get ready for the pitch event. 

 

The Grand Prize - $50,000 (sponsored by Aibnb)

Airbnb, our major partner sponsored a $50,000 prize for the best and most innovative sharing economy idea to be implemented in South Australia. This major prize was jointly awarded to SpacetoCo and Connecting up to Shared Assets and will help to seed fund the winners' initiatives, taking them to the next level.

This prize was decided by the judges of the final pitch. 

 

The Zero Project Adelaide Homelessness Prize - $5,000 (sponsored by the Don Dunstan Foundation)

The Don Dunstan Foundation believes that the sharing economy provides opportunities for the community to better use existing resources to address homelessness and was pleased to sponsor The Zero Project Adelaide Homelessness Prize. 

The Don Dunstan Foundation is leading a coalition of organisations and individuals seeking to achieve functional zero homelessness in the city of Adelaide. This prize was going to be awarded to the idea that best addressed homelessness in Adelaide. To be eligible for consideration of this prize, the idea had to address the needs of people experiencing homelessness.

This prize could not be awarded as there were not eligible candidates within the group of finalists.

 

The People's Choice Prize - $10,000

The public who attended the Share Challenge pitch event held during Open State had the opportunity to vote for the sharing economy idea of their preference, giving finalists the chance to win a cash prize of $10,000.
