As Director of Social Surplus, he leads strategy and facilitates capacity-building using strength-based approaches including asset-based community development, appreciative inquiry and human-centred design. He works with clients to design programs that amplify the strengths of people and communities through sharing. As the Australian editor of Shareable and Melbourne coordinator of the Sharing Cities Network, Darren provides thought leadership in social innovation, the urban commons, platform cooperativism and Sharing Cities. He is also part of an international team writing a book on Sharing Cities to be published in mid-2017. Darren is a PhD candidate at Curtin University Sustainability Policy Institute where he is undertaking research into Urban Experiments for Sustainability Transitions funded by the CRC for Low Carbon Living.

Ingrid Haythorpe was appointed Chief Executive of the Attorney General’s Department on 6 February 2017.
From January 2015 Ingrid had been the Deputy Chief Executive, Services and Government Relations, Department of the Premier and Cabinet. During this time she played a lead role in the major negotiations between the South Australian Government and the Australian Government on significant matters of policy and funding, covering a broad range of social and economic issues. Ingrid also had strategic oversight of the operational arm of DPC, which included the public facing Service SA; government service providers Shared Services SA, Strategic Procurement, and the Office for Digital Government; and the Finance, Human Resources and the ICT areas for DPC.
Prior to Ingrid’s time in DPC she held the position of Executive Director, Policy, Planning and Legislation in the SA Attorney-General's Department. Previously, Ingrid held executive and management roles in SA Health. These roles provided Ingrid with extensive experience in legislative reform, policy development, strategic planning, governance and criminal statistics and research.
Ingrid holds a Bachelor of Arts (Jurisprudence), a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) and post graduate qualifications. Ingrid began her career as a solicitor in the Crown Solicitor's Office working mainly in the area of administrative law. During her tenure in the CSO she appeared as counsel in most court jurisdictions in South Australia, and appeared as junior to the Solicitor-General in several High Court matters.
Ingrid has been a member of the SALRI Board since its inception. Ingrid was also a member of the Leaders Institute of South Australia board; and the Public Sector Medal Committee. In the past Ingrid has served on the board of the Criminology Research Council; the Australian Institute of Criminology and has been a member of the Law Society's Professional Development Advisory Group. As Chief Executive of AGD, Ingrid looks forward to contributing as a member of Criminology Research Advisory Council; and the National Justice and Police Senior Officers Group.

Prior to her current position, she has been an academic staff at the Universities of Strathclyde and Westminster in the UK, and the University of the Aegean (Greece). She also has professional hospitality industry experience. Her interests include service management, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in tourism and hospitality and e-learning. She has published six books and her work has also been published in several academic journals, books and international conferences. She is currently the editor of the Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Cases, co-editor of the Journal of Service Theory & Practice and the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Management. She is a past President of EuroCHRIE and a past member of the executive board of CHRIE. She currently serves at the executive boards of IFITT and CAUTHE. In 2016, she has been awarded the prestigious EuroCHRIE Presidents’ Award for her lifetime contributions and achievements to tourism and hospitality education.

She co-founded DNA Security Solutions in 2007. It has developed an ingenious security platform that is cross between electronic hardware, software and bio tech.
This Criminal Marking Technology has had a significant impact on reducing rates of criminal activity. To date, It has achieved a 98% success rate in decreasing and eliminating crime for our customers.

It is an independent thought leadership organisation working on collaborative projects aimed at inspiring action for fairer world and building on the legacy of the Late South Australian Premier Don Dunstan. The foundation is currently focused on Social Capital, Mental Health, Homelessness, Migration and Population Growth and Aboriginal Economic Development.
Most recently David was the Senior Policy Adviser to Premier Jay Weatherill for the past five years where he worked on social, health, education, innovation, economic development and a range of other policy areas. Prior to that he was the Senior Adviser to the Commonwealth Mental Health Minister, the Social Inclusion Adviser to South Australian Premier Mike Rann and Parliamentary Adviser to then Commonwealth Climate Change and Water Minister Penny Wong.
David has a Bachelor of International Studies and a Bachelor of Media, with Honours in Politics and Public Policy from the University of Adelaide. He is currently studying, part time, a Master of Business Administration from Flinders University.
