OzHarvest rescues excess food which would otherwise be discarded and distributes the food to charities supporting the vulnerable in Sydney, Newcastle, Adelaide and Brisbane.

OzHarvest believes that good food should not go to waste. By distributing it to those in need, excess food is turned into a resource instead of being dumped as landfill.

Food is rescued and then distributed to various charities and not-for-profit organisations. OzHarvest provides this service at no cost to food donors and recipients.

Food that would otherwise be sent to landfill is redistributed. It matches people with a ‘have’ (excess food, for example that is close to its use-by date) with people with a ‘need’ (charities that require food to disadvantaged and vulnerable people).
